iPad passes the 1-million sold mark and grabs over 70 percent of tablet market in South Korea


South Korea is the home country of Samsung but Apple iPad still occupies the top spot of the tablet sales in South Korea. Although there are many cheap Android tablets made by Samsung and other manufacturers trying to compete with the iPad and iPad 2, but the iPads have managed to pass the 1-million sold mark.

Local reports indicate that the iPad and iPad 2 make up around 70% to 80% of the tablet market share in South Korea. So, there is a big gap for the competitors to catch up.
The reports also detail that Apple has sold 700,000 iPad since its launch in South Korea last April through the end of 2011. And the sales of iPad has passed the 1-million mark this year.
