Toshiba to launch Android and Windows 7 slate tablets

Since the launch of Apple iPad, there have been a number of manufacturers follow the step to produce slate tablets. One of them in the run is Toshiba, which is now prepping some tablets that will either run Android or Microsoft OS. These Toshiba tablets will finally come in two different flavors, which some of them run the Windows 7 and some on Android.

The currently confirmed version of the Toshiba tablets, is one that runs Android and packs a 10.1-inch touchscreen display. And it’ll also be the cheaper of the two models. The reason is Android is an open-source OS whereas Windows 7 requires licensing fees that will bump up the price.
But, the Windows 7-powered Toshiba tablet is said to feature a more powerful processor, as well as packing dual screens as what’s seen on the Microsoft Courier tablet. The Toshiba tablets are said to either late this year or early next year
