One after another mobile makers are coming up with 5-inch display smartphones in the market and the latest company to join the horde is the HTC Corp. It has recently, launched Droid DNA smartphone in US with Verizon’s 4G LTE network support. The device currently runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and has HTC Sense UI. The 5-inch display of the device is said to be of 1080p, and sets it apart from high end smartphones available in the market.
It is powered with 1.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and
has 2 GB RAM. The main camera stands at 8.0-megapixel whereas the device
has 2.0-megapixel front facing camera. To make the giant phablet work
for long hours, HTC has incorporated a 2,020 mAh Li-Ion non removable
battery in it. On the con side, the device is said to come with 16 GB
non expandable (no card slot) internal memory and there’s no 32 GB
According to reports, Verizon has decided to sell Droid DNA as its
flagship phone for the holiday season. This indicates that the device
comes with promising performance. The phone will go on sale in US from
November 21, 2012 on the occasion of Thanksgiving and will cost US $199
(Approx Rs. 11,000) to customers. Keeping the spec sheet in mind, the phone will cost around Rs. 35,000 in India however, there is no information from HTC on pricing and availability of the device in India.
